About Black Daisy Art Studios
Black Daisy Art Studios is named after my great-great-grandmother, Daisy Horan, the first of five generations of Black female artists and creatives in my family.
I created Black Daisy Art Studios to be a space dedicated to the celebration and upliftment of Black women. My art showcases the warmth, creativity, and confidence of Black women of all shades and shapes across the diaspora, but most importantly, it provides a space for us to simply exist. My hope is that you both see yourself in my pieces and feel seen when you explore them.
As a fairly recently diagnosed neurodivergent (shoutout to my AuDHDers out there!) I know how hard it is to find your actual voice after a lifetime of masking to sound like others. My artwork is one of the only places where I can actually express my authentic self and share the world as I see it. As a neurodivergent person, I'm very practiced in observing my surroundings; I think this is what makes my artwork so rich and detailed. While it's hard for me to actually join in socially as an autistic person, I see EVERYTHING, and my observations bring me joy. I hope you can feel that joy and attention to detail in each piece.
Thank you so much for visiting my site and viewing my work. Your support is very appreciated!
